Candle Making Molds For Pet Lovers

Candle Making Molds For Pet Lovers

Candle making molds for pet lovers may seem difficult to find at first, but they are available. Some online retailers sell candle making molds in the shapes of dogs, cats, horses, and other pets. Shapes of pets themselves are fine, of course, but so are other shapes. Think outside the box. Molds for pet lovers can include any shape that is regularly associated with the animals they love.

For example, we have two "pet" seagulls on the deck of our waterfront home. I'm watching them as I write. Now, I can find candle making molds in seagull shapes, but I wanted something more amusing. Thinking outside the box, I found starfish candle making molds. Our two seagulls eat starfish as often as they can get them, and we have laughed at their attempts. They get two of the star's legs in their mouths, and there it will stay - wedged tightly. They drop it on the shore and try again, going for a different leg, but getting the same results. A wax seagull beside a wax starfish is a perfectly hilarious combination for our home.

Pet Dogs

Candle making molds of dog figures are much more common than seagulls, of course. Some of my favorites include:

· A poodle that is 6.5 inches high, and would be lovely in black or white
· Bull dog and hound dog shapes at 5.5 inch height
· A 5-inch mold that features a dog by a fire hydrant
· A latex golden retriever shape that is almost as detailed as our own dog.

A determined chandler can even find two dogs or puppies together.

What else would you use for dog lovers' creations? I found ball-shaped candle making molds that produce lovely wax tennis balls. Dog bones and dumbbells are also possibilities, and come in various sizes. How about a bird for your bird dog?

Want something more creative? Get candle making molds in the shape of dog biscuits and a dog dish. Then mix up a wax version of his favorite meal and set it beside him.

Pet Cats

Candle making molds of cats and kittens are also plentiful, which is great for cat lovers who want to honor their companions. I found these three in mere minutes:

· Fluffy-looking kitten candle making molds that are 5.5 inches high.
· A Siamese cat mold that is just a little taller.
· A mold of a skinny cat that's a full 17 inches high!
· A scary, 2 inch high Halloween cat that would create great treats

You know, if you are a cat person, that every wax cat needs a bow around its neck, and you can find cat shapes that have that bow. You also know that every wax kitten needs a wax mouse or a ball of wax yarn to play with - and you can find those shapes in plastic as well as other materials. You can also create tiny wax fish to embed in a gel "aquarium" to display beside your kittens.

By now, you get the idea. Candle making molds in pet shapes are readily available. Shapes that serve well for accessories can also be found without much trouble.

But What If...

What if your pet is something more exotic? What if you have a monkey? Suppose you have a pet camel or a pet giraffe?

I read of a cat that befriended a deer. That pet lover would probably enjoy having her wax kitten sitting at the feet of a wax deer.

Those shapes are more difficult to find, but this is where you think outside the box again. Get creative and you can create wonderful shapes that will please any pet lover.

Cookie Cutters

Cookie cutters come in a wider variety than do candle making molds, and are great for hard-to-find animal shapes. Use beeswax sheets or make paraffin wax sheets. Then cut shapes into wax "cookies." Stack the "cookies" with a wick between the center two. Seal them with microcrystalline wax, flatten one end, and you have a unique luminary.

Conclusion

Candle making molds for pet lovers include animal shapes and the shapes of items associated with pets. Combine them and you can create interesting gifts for every pet lover in your circle of family and friends. Display amusing combinations of pets and their toys at your next craft show, and you are sure to increase business.

Minnie mouse has long been one of the most recognizable characters from the Disney family and would be the perfect character to celebrate her first birthday! This mouse is all girl with her cute dresses and pink bows - but how do you really make this birthday one to remember? Here are 5 great ideas to help make your Minnie birthday party a hit with your guests!

1. Think Pink! Minnie is a girly girl and wears pink and heels all the time so why not make pink the main theme color for your party! Use pink balloons, pink streamers and pink frosting on the cake to really accentuate the feminine feel of your Minnie party.

2. Minnie Cutouts. Get yourself some cardboard and trace the Mickey Mouse face and ear shape. You can either paint these shapes pink, white or black or consider painting them all black and add some cute pink bows!

3. Minnie Invitations. The invitation will really help to set the mood for your party and get your guests in the right frame of mind. You never get a second chance to make a first impression, so get a hold of some cute Minnie Mouse themed invitations to send to your guests. If you are crafty then you could make your own invitations and save yourself some money at the same time!

4. Minnie Cake. A 3 tiered cake would be the perfect addition to any Minnie Mouse party! Decorate your cake with pink and white icing. You could frost your cakes pink and put white polka dots on them, or frost them white and pipe some cute pink ribbons and bows. Make sure you top the cake with a figure of Minnie Mouse to really complete this look!

5. Minnie Mouse Deserts. Make sure you provide your guests with a wide variety of different deserts besides your cake! One cute idea you can use is to bake up and frost some cupcakes with white icing. Then get yourself some Oreo cookies - both the full sized ones and the snack ones. With toothpicks attach two of the snack sized Oreos to your full sized cookie. Put this on top of your cupcakes and add a little pink bow with some icing and you have a cute, edible decoration to add to the theme of your party!

The 5 Smartest Dinosaurs of All Times

The 5 Smartest Dinosaurs of All Times

ItemTitle

Most of us think that dinosaurs must have been quite dumb if they are extinct. However, this is not really true. Although dinosaurs were, in reality, dumb, there some very smart. It is believed by paleontologists that there were some dinosaurs that had mammalian-level intelligence.

Here is a list of the 5 smartest dinosaurs to roam the world. This list is compiled based on the research conducted by paleontologists after carefully analyzing the different dinosaurs' behavioral patterns and anatomy.

The 5 Smartest Dinosaurs of All Times:

o Troodon: This dinosaur was big as man and lived in the Cretaceous period. It had big eyes, stereo vision and was extremely fast enabling it to catch its preys. Compared to other dinosaurs, this carnivore had a big brain, where big is a relative term, but its opossum-sized brain made it more intelligent than other dinosaurs.
o Deinonychus: Many people believe that the Deinonychus was very intelligent after they finished watching Jurassic Park. They believed that it was intelligent enough to turn a doorknob as shown in the movie! However, the Deinonychus was intelligent but not that much. Researchers have found evidence that Deinonychus hunted in packs and this means that they required a certain level of communication and strategic thinking. Hence, paleontologists have concluded that they must have a bigger brain compared to most dinosaurs and may have been intelligent enough to get on the 5 smartest dinosaurs list.
o Compsognathus: Dinosaur intelligence and smartness is not judged by how big a brain a dinosaur had compared to other dinosaurs but how big the brain was compared to the dinosaur's body. In this regard, the Compsognathus wins hands down. This dinosaur flourished in the Mesozoic Era and was chicken-sized. Compared to its body, its brain was large and paleontologists believed that it was as smart as dumb mouse, which for those prehistoric times was very smart!
o Tyrannosaurus Rex: A T-Rex did not need that much intelligence as it was one of the major predators of the Cretaceous period. In addition, it was blessed with large teeth, powerful legs and a strong sense of smell. However, paleontologists have concluded, after analyzing the various fossilized skulls, that the Tyrannosaurus Rex was indeed intelligent and smart just by the virtue of its large brain.
o Oviraptor: The oviraptor, which was not a raptor, has made it to the list of the 5 smartest dinosaurs because it was intelligent enough to sit on its eggs until they hatched. It is considered to be one of the most intelligent dinosaurs of the late Cretaceous period.
